Now offering VA home care
VA home care in Lincoln, NE
Velora’s VA home care line opened October 15, 2026. We help veterans stay in familiar rooms — with a caregiver who understands the pace of the day, not a facility schedule.
For veterans and families
What families usually need
Adult children search for VA home care in Lincoln when a parent is home from the VA hospital, living alone, or when a spouse is worn out. We can sit with someone through the afternoon, help with personal care, or give a family caregiver a real break.
- Companion and personal care in the home
- Respite for spouses and adult children
- Support after a hospital or rehab stay
- Service across Lincoln and Lancaster County
From VA referral to care at home
Velora is a VA community care provider. When your VA care team approves home care and sends the referral to us, this is what happens next.
Your VA team sends the referral
The referral lists the services and hours the VA has approved for you. We review new referrals every business day and confirm with the VA that we can provide your care.
We call you within 24 hours
Once we accept your referral, an intake coordinator contacts you within 24 hours — using the phone number or contact method you gave the VA — to book your first visit. If we cannot reach you, we ask the VA to help us connect.
An in-home assessment
Our clinical lead visits you at home to learn your routine and what you need, and writes a care plan with you. This is also where we match you with your caregiver.
Care begins, and the VA stays informed
Visits follow your care plan and the services your referral authorizes. We let the VA know when your care has started and send your care plan and visit notes to your VA team.
If your needs change
If you need more help than your referral covers, or your authorization is close to ending, we request more services from the VA for you — so care is not interrupted.
Questions about benefits
Call us about eligibility and what your VA benefits may cover. We will be plain about what we can and cannot do, and help you understand the next step.

Ready when you are
Let’s plan a better week, together.
Share a little about your family. There is no obligation — just a Lincoln coordinator who has heard this kind of week before.
