Information for Referral Partners
If you're a discharge planner, case manager, social worker, physician, or other healthcare professional considering Velora Home Care for a patient or client, here's what you need to know.
| Who we are | A locally owned home care company, owned and directed by a registered nurse. Not a franchise of a national chain. Care plans are built and overseen by a registered nurse and reviewed periodically as needs change. |
|---|---|
| What we provide | Personal care, companion care, memory care, neurological care, cancer and hospice support, recovery and post-surgical support, transportation, and advanced/high assistance care including Hoyer lift transfers, catheter support, seizure monitoring, and tube feeding assistance. |
| Service area | Lincoln, Nebraska and the surrounding area. Call us directly to confirm coverage for a specific address. |
| Payment & billing | Private Pay, Long-Term Care Insurance, and VA Community Care are accepted. |
| Timeline | Following an initial assessment, care typically begins within 24–48 hours. There is no minimum hour requirement, which allows for flexible starts, including short-term post-hospital support. |
| Licensing | Non-medical home care agencies are not required to hold a state license in Nebraska. Velora is an E-Verify participating employer, and every caregiver completes background screening before providing care (see below). |
| Privacy & compliance | Velora maintains client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable Nebraska privacy regulations. |
Caregiver Screening
Before providing care, every Velora caregiver completes comprehensive background screening, reference and qualification verification, required health screening including TB screening, and employment eligibility verification. Velora is an E-Verify participating employer. Caregivers also maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
Every caregiver completes orientation and competency-based training covering client safety, infection prevention and control, personal care, fall prevention, safe mobility and transfers, emergency procedures, confidentiality, documentation, recognizing and reporting changes in condition, and the prevention and reporting of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Velora also aims to match each caregiver to a client based on care needs and personality, and to provide the same caregiver at each visit whenever possible.
